About the Project

Supporting People Aged 50+ in the Workplace

The project focuses on employed people aged 50+ and supports their active role in the modern labour market.

Many experienced workers still have 10 to 15 years of professional life ahead of them. Their knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience are valuable for companies, teams and younger colleagues.

Our aim is to help employers, HR experts and adult educators create age-inclusive workplaces where people aged 50+ feel motivated, respected and supported in their further development.

Why the Project Was Created

Challenging Ageism and Unlocking Experience

Ageism means prejudice or discrimination based on age. In the labour market, it can affect recruitment, training opportunities, career development and decisions about retirement.

People aged 50+ often face stereotypes. Some employers may prefer younger candidates because they believe they are more adaptable or easier to train. As a result, experienced workers may have lower access to education, fewer career opportunities or may be pushed towards early retirement.

This project responds to several key challenges:

✔️ stereotypes among HR experts and employers

✔️ general ageism in the labour market

✔️ lower access to training and career development

✔️ early retirement or replacement by younger workers

✔️ lack of age-friendly internal processes in companies

We believe that the experience of people aged 50+ should not be lost too early. Their strengths can support company stability, knowledge transfer, mentoring and cooperation across generations.
